Your adviser profile is your space on Quilter.com to showcase your services and promote yourself to prospect clients. Your biography will appear at the top of your adviser profile and is your opportunity to introduce yourself.
How to complete your adviser profile biography
We ask you to complete the digital profile form to let us know what you’d like to say in your biography. Here are three tips to follow to get it right first time.
Tip 1
Write your biography as if it’s coming from you, in the first person (using me/I)
Example: ‘I’m passionate about helping clients achieve their goals’.
This makes your profile feel more personal and helps potential clients to connect with you.
Tip 2
If you’re referring to length of service/experience, specify the date rather than counting the number of years
Example: ‘I have been advising clients since 2010’.
This prevents your profile becoming out of date as you gather additional years of experience.
Tip 3
Supply your profile information divided into two sections; “Biography intro” and “Extended bio”
The profile form asks for your biography in this format. To ensure your profile feels substantial and trustworthy, make sure you supply at least a paragraph for both sections.
Your “biography intro” is the opening paragraph as the top of the profile, under the heading ‘A little bit about ‘your name’.

Example biography:
- Keep your biography to a maximum of 75 words.
- Include the key details you want potential clients to see, including what type of advice you provide and any specialist areas of advice.
- Make your wording approachable and welcoming.
Your “extended bio” can be seen by clicking on the ‘More about me’ tab.

Example extended biography:
- This is your space to let clients know a little bit more about yourself, such as your approach to advice, what financial planning means to you and what clients can expect.
- There is no limit on word count but remember to keep it concise to give the best experience.
- It’s also nice to end with a little bit about what you like to do outside of work, talk about your family and other relevant interests you have.
